Andrew Grevatt is an experienced Advanced Skills Teacher who is currently an associate tutor at the University of Sussex, where he is researching for a professional doctorate in education. He is the author of the popular ‘Level Assessed Tasks’ , Assessment for Learning Tasks’ and ‘How Science Works’ series of books published by Badger Publishing. He has been an active member of the CHSC since 2002.

Matthew Newberry is Director of The Cams Hill Science Consortium and on the Senior Management Team at Cams Hill School.  Previously he was a Science Consultant for Hampshire Local Authority and is experienced at observing and evaluating Science education activities in progress and subsequently providing training and professional development for teachers. He has 12 years teaching experience including Head of Science. In addition he has written materials included in the National Strategy for Science, teacher training websites and also presents at national and regional Science Education conferences.

Professor John Gilbert is Emeritus Professor of Education at The University of Reading. He has a B.Sc. and D.Phil. in chemistry, teaches research/evaluation methodology to postgraduates, and provides a module on ‘Communication about Science and Technology’ within the B.Sc.(Natural Sciences) programme. As Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Science Education, he has extensive experience in the critical review of research and in the production of research reports.

Jane Braisher is Curriculum Projects Co-ordinator at Cams Hill School.  Working collaboratively with a range of primary and secondary teachers, Jane offers whole school Science INSET and workshops and designs and delivers a variety of Science Club activities and assists with lesson planning and delivery.

As Science Consultants we regularly offer a range of INSET workshops for both primary and secondary teachers in their own schools.

 

We have also presented at a variety regional and national conferences.
