INSET and Professional Development

We are able to offer a range of INSET and Consultancy to support both primary and secondary Science.

For further details please see our Consultancy page.

The Thinking Frames Approach, Levels Mountain and Science Pathways have been developed by the teachers involved in the Cams Hill Science Consortium working in partnership.

The CHSC was first established in 2001 as a classroom-based action research project between science teachers at six secondary schools across Hampshire and was initially funded by Cams Hill School's Leading Edge Status. Over the years we have been extremely fortunate in securing additional sponsorship and funding from a variety of sources to enable a variety of specific action research projects.  We are very grateful to; Gatsby TEP, AstraZeneca ScienceTeaching Trust, Cams Hill Leading Edge Partnerships, Uplands Primary School, Court Moor School and John Hanson Community College for their support for our work over recent years.

Currently the CHSC consists of a network of six different ’Research Partnerships’ involving teachers from a total of thirty five different primary and secondary schools across the South East.  Co-ordinated by Matthew Newberry and Prof. John Gilbert the partnerships work in collaboration with Science Advisors from Hampshire and West Sussex.
